We want to let you know that a new police base has opened in the heart of Grange Park in Blackpool.
The base at @TheGrange on Bathurst Avenue will replace the office that the Grange neighbourhood policing team occupied at Boundary School.
It will also see the Layton neighbourhood policing team work from there. One sergeant, three police officers and six police community support officers (PCSOs) will work from the building – of which three PCSOs are dedicated to Grange Park and three are dedicated to Layton.
These new facilities are a fantastic resource – for both the policing teams and the local area, allowing them be closer to the communities they serve and more visible.
This new base helps ensure our local police team keeps a presence in this area and helps them to build relationships with the local community. It also embeds them with key partners in the council, allowing us to work ever more closely to deliver shared priorities around keeping Grange and Layton safe places to live and work.
The opening of the new base follows the opening of West Division Police Headquarters on Gerry Richardson Way as well as the opening of a front counter and policing base at Blackpool Council’s Municipal Building on Corporation Street in 2018.
There is also a police station in Bispham and further police bases which are used on an ad-hoc basis at Talbot and Brunswick Children’s Centre and at an office on Egerton Road.
There will be no front counter service or access for the public at @TheGrange. Residents should continue to use West Division Police Headquarters in Blackpool or Blackpool Council’s Municipal Building if they need to use a front counter. Crime can be reported online at www.lancashire.police.uk/reportonline or by calling 101.
